Recently I’ve been just knitting on socks. It started when the Grocery Girls started talking about their Fancy Feet KAL. To join the KAL all you need to do is knit a pair of socks using a new technique. One of the women I knit with taught me how to knit two socks at a time. I’ve only knit socks that were cuff down on dpn’s. These pink socks are going to be for my daughter.
The next pair of socks are going to be for me. I’ve never knit socks with self-striping yarn or with sparkle. I order this yarn from Nomadic Yarns and I love it. The name of the yarn is In Bloom. The other ball that is shown is called McGonagall.
Once I get finished with my daughter’s socks I’m going to cast on the Featherweight cardigan. This is the yarn that I decided to use. It’s a Miss Babs yarn and the colorway is Volcanic Eruption. I’m going to make all of the ribbing on the bottom, cuffs, and neckband a solid color. I’m not sure what I’ll use yet because I want to see how this knits up. I’m hoping this will be worn at Rhinebeck.
Yesterday I was interviewed by Laura of the Knit, Read, Pray podcast. I believe that the interview will be posted sometime next week. We were connected through Leanne of Arrow Acres and we’ll be going to Rhinebeck together so it was so nice to meet each other. I was really nervous, but Laura had such a nice, lighthearted presence. We talked about how I started knitting and how I choose colors when I dye yarn. I donated a skein of yarn for a giveaway and there will also be a coupon code for my Robin’s Roost Etsy shop. Visit her site next week to check it out.
